Comic Builds Imagination Power

If you still feel uncertain as to comics really builds imagination power then you will find your answer here.
Many teachers and parents complain that comics consist of low level language & connotations which are not good for a child’s growing brain and vocabulary. There are certain parents who don’t allow their children to read comics due to large amount of visuals. They think that their child at a young age who does not have much sense would misinterpret or misunderstand certain visuals and characters. This seems to raise eyebrows of many parents.
However, there are studies which prove that comics help to build imagination power of children. A professor of Illinois University said, “Comical tales & story books for children contain sophisticated language and connotations as is shown in other children books considered good for reading. You just have to choose a good one.”
For example, ACK’s Hindi panchatantra stories are an easy & fun way for children to learn about India’s major mythological characters and develop moral virtues and spiritual wisdom.
#How comics and story books for kids create an interest towards reading in children?
Comical tales, short stories for kids and moral stories are tales which children’s young minds readily accept. The major reason for this it that such comical tales like Hindi panchatantra stories consist of characters which children love. For instance, Hindi panchatantra stories contain tales of animals.
Comics and other children books are created keeping a child’s view in mind. Kids don’t like to read a chunk of text at once. However, they like to read something which is short and contains relevant graphics so that they don’t get bored.
For kids who look upon reading & books with angry eyes, comics and story books are the best way to create a pool of friendship between you and your child.
#Comics & moral stories builds imaginative & creative skills in children
Research studies show that comical tales & story books have the potential to engage children and spend more time reading than watching TV and playing video games. Comics are one of the best ways to tune up the imaginative and creative buds within children.
Reading is necessary to develop a pool of vocabulary and understand the meaning of texts, communication and further learning. However very few children from a young age develop the habit of reading books, novels and newspapers. However, comics have the potential to instill a comprehensive mindset and vocabulary in children’s minds in an amusing way!
So the next time your child asks for a comic, give her one. Over a period of time, you’ll may become delighted when you hear your 7-year old son asks you about the meaning of certain words or tells you the importance of certain terms like ‘friendship’ & ‘team spirit’ & ‘success’! And don’t get surprised when you get to know that she learnt them all from reading a comic & those popular moral stories which we all enjoyed reading once!
